Amazing

,2010 has been an amazing year for me. I've changed so much, not just in appearance but in my heart. I know God has been doing some great work in there and is continuing to change me. I am not sad to see 2010 go. I do not have a list of New Years resolutions to accomplish. Yet, I'm so excited for 2011 and the changes that God is going to continue to bring into my life and into my heart.

Of course, I still have so many adventures I want to accomplish. So many goals and dreams to dream. The inner-athlete is alive, awake and well.

I pray God blesses each and everyone of you in 2011 and that you see your life for what it is, a gift from God. I pray that he provides you strength and peace to meet and exceed in any challenge you may face. I pray that life is not only what you want out of it, but it is God's will being done.

Oh and I ended the year right. I got to the gym today and swam laps for about 30 minutes. It felt so good to be doing something active again.

Catch up

I've had a busy week and I know it's been a couple of days since I blogged. So hmmm.. where to start? With the boring stuff, I guess, lol.

Wednesday I was sore! EVERY muscle in my body was sore. I don't care if I've been doing body pump for months, I don't think my body will ever get used to it. It's intense. This week, my arms were sore, my chest was sore, and you guessed it my legs were sore! My inner thighs, hamstrings/glut and quads - ALL sore! I was so sore I had a hard time decided what to do at the gym. I ended up doing the intimidator, my calves, abs and running. It hurt to run though, not so much in my legs but in my chest! EYe yii yii! I did a ton of ab work. One hundred ab crunches on the weighted machine with 60lbs. The on a yoga mat, I did 100 crunches each section of my tummy center, right and left obliques. Plus, I set the timer on my phone and held a hover for 2 minutes. That was HARD!

I could really feel it today though! The rest of my body no longer hurts, but today, my abs, oh yeah they are on FIRE. It's been months since my abs were sore. I really think I need to concentrate on them more often. I didn't have much time for the gym today, but I went. I ran over 2.5 miles (25 minutes on the tready) and called it a day. I was hoping to make it back tonight, for Zumba but I didn't.

This afternoon, I had a job interview. It was an awkward pres-creening 5 minute interview but I really think this job would be a good opportunity for me. But I think they probably interviewed 100 people. Seriously, every 5 minutes is crazy. I prayed about it though, I know God has a plan and I need to trust him. I'm just nervous, my unemployment will end soon. God has been so good and provided for us for so long, I know he will continue to do so. I'm trying not to worry about it, but it's difficult. I know if it's the right opportunity it will happen if not, something else will be there. I got all dressed up today and had Mariyn take a pic. For the last couple of interviews, I've been wearing a yellow button up business type shirt but since I haven't been successful, I decided to change up my outfit a bit. Today, I wore a skirt a jacket. The jacket I bought two years ago, it's big on me now. A lot bigger than it was two years ago but not so big that it looks funny, just not tailored looking.

I picked up a bike for Rich tonight. I found it on craigslist last week. It's a trek road bike. I'm not sure if he really likes it, but if not, I figured we could easily re-sell it. I got a good deal on it. My nephew and the girls went with me to pick it up. Then, we came back to the house and they got to swim. My nephew didn't want to go home. He was having too much fun with Mariyn.

Oh and the exciting news... Gotta share that! I rarely wear my wedding ring. I'm not really a jewelry person I wear it to important events and such but not everyday. It has a lot of sentimental value because it was my parents wedding ring, and well, my dad passed away 14 years ago. It used to fit me, I remember trying this ring, and it always being just my size. Well, that was until I got married. I was pregnant and my hands were fatter than they used to be. Richard and I had it sized up. I figured it was temporary but wanted it to fit when we got married. I gained so much weight after we were married that I never had it re-sized back down. Today, I put it on and it was very loose! For the first time in 10 years, I can honestly say my wedding ring it too big and that to me is EXCITING!!!

swimsuit pic

Isn't my shadow hot? I mean look at those curves! ha ha I took this photo the other day. Don't you love how shadows can distort reality? I mean you see no extra fat, no rippley skin, no imperfections really just curves. You can't really tell that I am bigger than the average person or my age. It's just a perfectly crafted silhouette of who I am just the way God made me. Now only if I saw the real version of me that way. ::: sigh:::

As promised a while back, the much anticipated full swimsuit picture. Mariyn took it today and I have to say, it's not bad for 195lbs but my swimsuit covers a lot. My main problem area is my mid section.

Mission accomplished today, I swam 50 laps. 40 laps free style 10 laps back stroke. Each set of 10 laps took about 4 minutes. I'm not exactly sure the exact time, Mariyn timed me on my phone. I took short breaks between sets: checked on the kids, watched their tricks, whatever so I could get on to my next set. I still need swimming gear.

50 x 40 feet (length of the pool) = 2000 feet! 2000feet = 609.6 meters = about .38 miles! Improving already :) I'm sure I can swim the 400 meters required for the triathlon. I might not be the fastest but I know I CAN do it. Plus training and practice, I can only improve right?

Keeping busy

I had a busy weekend and managed to stay occupied enough last week without internet. Obviously, I'm back online. :) YAY

Saturday the family and I went to Yosemite National Park. It's a short day trip from our house, we are so lucky to have one of the most beautiful places on earth so close to home. It's virtually in our backyard. I got some great photos and most of all spent quality time with the fam. Road trips call for extra food planning. We did pretty good but ended up staying so late that we stopped for dinner. Starving, I ate 3 pieces of pizza. It was so good though! And I'm not even a pizza person.

Same pose, different angel, I like the top one better but just to compare and be fair.

Sunday we had two parties to attend: nieces birthday and sister's baby shower. I did good on food. I ate chicken at one event and fruit at the other. I had a piece of cake at the shower. It was delish. It was so hot, I didn't get hungry for dinner. Calorie wise, I think I did ok. Probably could have done better nutritionally.

I took pics both days this weekend. I'm always the one with the camera so I don't have as many of me. But there are a few. It's funny, in some I look thin, or at least thinner in others I don't feel you can tell I lost any weight. Perhaps I am being harsh on myself. The first two pics of me at Yosemite I feel I look good/thin. The last one, not so much. Then the pics of me at the shower, I'm in purple ;-) The first two, I don't think are attractive neither is the third but I think I look thinner in the third. What's up with that? My aunt and her family were at the shower and I hadn't seen them in a while. They seemed shocked by my new size. In fact, I think I got just as many compliments as my pregnant sister. ;-) My aunt kept telling me how beautiful I looked. :) She always makes me feel so good.

Tonight, I did cardio kick and am about to enjoy a tasty baked chicken dinner, zucchini and quinoa.
